‘FIGHTING CITIES’ - Design Schematics
Two cities in an embrace
How can we remain indifferent to so many conflicts in the world?
I designed Fighting Cities after watching a film about two cities in conflict. Their story led me to reflect on the divisions between cultures, and on the choices we make when differences arise.
I brought two stylised architectures together in a metallic embrace. Through this architectural ring, I wanted to draw a little attention to those conflicts—a quiet, personal statement expressed through Jewellery.
Choosing integration
Different cultures can meet without destroying one another. Even when disagreements arise, there is still the possibility of choosing integration over destruction.
That is the thought behind Fighting Cities. The two cities retain their individual character while becoming part of the same piece.
For me, this silver ring is a small reminder that differences can become a starting point for dialogue.
