‘ROMA BY NIGHT’ - Sterling Silver Ring
I was born in Syracuse, Sicily but at the age of 7 my father decided to move the family to Rome, where he hoped to find better working conditions. I lived in this wonderful city for the next forty years or so. Ultimately, I experienced what some might call the best part of my life there, the most energetic and carefree but also the most serious and career-defining. I experienced everything there was to experience and I still feel this city tattooed on my skin.
Now that I live and work in London, I cannot hide the fact that I am still very attached to this enchanted city. So, I wanted to draw my personal tribute to this city and, having to decide what to depict, my imagination went to what is undoubtedly the most recognizable symbol of all – The Colosseum
I think I know every single stone of this timeless architecture which is also one of the seven wonders of the world.Â
So many times, I found myself passing in front of it or stopping to look at it and I think that anyone who passes through this city does not miss the opportunity to see it at least once.

Please note that this is ROMA BY NIGHT not ROMA that you will find displayed in the collections below.
The difference between the two is that ROMA has no gallery and is a little more angular, while ROMA BY NIGHT, this ring, is always my personal reinterpretation of the Colosseum like the other but is provided with a gallery to also be able, wanting, to carry precious stones and is more rounded and thin in thickness.
In reality, as often happens this is an evolution of the first one that gave its intuition of the model to life but that was later perfected.
ROMA BY NIGHT, this ring is the perfected version of ROMA.
Even realistically in fact the Colosseum has several turns of wall all around to create various concentric oval galleries that this design wants to remember too.
