‘DRY WALL’ - Sterling Silver Ring
I grew up in Sicily until the age of seven. Everywhere on our beautiful island, dry stone walls are used to determine boundaries between properties, this ancient technique has always been used. Not expensive or beautiful however, they are the true soul of the landscape of our wonderful island.
Throughout the entire island these inexpensive and always unique walls give the countryside a completely unrepeatable atmosphere which, mixed with fruit trees, almond groves, mulberry trees and the scents and almost African climate make these lands so suggestive and unforgettable.
I wanted to dedicate this ring to the beauty of the places of my childhood, with much affection and nostalgia dedicated to my ‘bedda’ (Beautiful in Sicilian slang) Sicily.
In the image two Dry Wall are worn together to double their importance. Worn individually or multiple, they are characteristic and unique and convey a sense of belonging.
In this example I intensified the depth effect by adding this black effect in the interstices also known as antique effect which is what normally happens to silver over time due to oxidation
