G Style: an idea from the eighties
Foil is the first ring in a collection I call G Style, but the idea goes back to my work in the 1980s.
When I designed a ring with a large upper section, I gave it a broader band underneath to help balance it on the finger. In my experience, this made those designs more comfortable and less likely to turn out of position.
The two earlier rings shown here illustrate that approach. Their substantial upper forms led me to consider the whole ring, including the part beneath the finger.
I returned to that idea with Foil, bringing the textured surface and the broader lower band together in one design.
Experimenting with silver
I am always looking to create Jewellery that stands out. With so many talented designers around, experimentation is an essential part of finding my own expression.
For Foil, I explored a surface that felt organic and unusual. The effect in silver immediately caught my attention: it reminded me of crumpled aluminium foil. That resemblance gave the ring its name.
The folds and irregular texture give this sculptural silver ring its character.
Made to your size
Foil is a textured silver ring made to order in Argentium Silver 940. I adapt the digital design to your ring size, then finish each cast piece by hand in my London workshop.
Each ring is hallmarked at the London Assay Office. Please allow 2–3 weeks for production. Your ring arrives in Guzzardi packaging with free UK shipping.
